Morgain Physical Therapy

Our Owner: Ricky Morgan

Who is the owner of MORGAiN Physcial therapy, ricky morgan?

Ricky Morgan, who was born and raised in North Dakota, currently resides in Thompson, North Dakota. He is married to Laura, a physician, and together they have four boys who keep them extremely busy.

Among Ricky Morgan’s favorite activities are playing sports with his sons, including baseball, football, basketball, and golf. He also enjoys fishing and has a strong passion for continuous learning.

Initially interested in becoming a sports medicine physician to work with athletes, Ricky’s career path took a turn after shadowing a physical therapist and developing a passion for the field. This led him to establish MORGAiN Physical Therapy, with a particular focus on catering to active adults and athletes.

His decision to start MORGAiN Physical Therapy stemmed from a desire to treat people based on their individual needs rather than being constrained by insurance company requirements. This approach allows Ricky and his team to provide personalized care and prioritize the well-being of their patients.

When did Ricky Morgan open MORGAiN Physical Therapy?

MORGAiN Physical Therapy opened in 2023 in Thompson, North Dakota where Ricky Morgan is originally from. It began with Ricky treating patients in their homes and then athletes at the local high school while covering athletic events.

What drives Ricky the most is helping people return to their normal lives, reach their goals pain-free, and navigate that journey as quickly and as safely as possible. He is committed to helping them return to their regular activities while also enhancing their performance.

What Is Ricky Morgan's, and MORGAiN Physical Therapy's, Goal When Treating Patients?

At MORGAiN Physical Therapy, our goal is to listen to our patients and to help them get back to the activities that they want to get back to. One patient that comes to mind was unfortunately pushed down the wrong route previously. A lot of their time, money, and energy was spent on treating conditions that had been wrongly diagnosed.

This patient had shoulder pain and had seen multiple providers within a large organization. He began receiving various explanations for their condition. They got injections and had surgery for a partial rotator cuff tear before even trying physical therapy.

We saw this patient after their surgery. Whilst we were making some progress in rehab, the improvement was not going as planned. During the examination, we discovered that the cervical spine was bringing the pain to the shoulder.

When we treated the cervical spine, the patient’s shoulder pain disappeared. The patient was unaware that partial rotator cuff tears are actually very common as we age, often referred to as “wrinkles on the inside.”

The surgery did not address the actual problem, as the neck was the source of the shoulder pain. Unfortunately, this individual spent a lot of time and money on surgeries and injections, and missed work and important social occasions, when seeing a physical therapist first could have saved a considerable amount of time and money.
