The Active Longevity Guide
Move Well. Age Well. Stay Independent.
A free guide from Ricky Morgan, Owner of MORGAiN Physical Therapy in Grand Forks, ND
Walking farther. Taking the stairs with confidence. Lifting the grandkids, traveling, and spending a full afternoon in the garden. For many adults, these everyday moments are what staying active is really about. The Active Longevity Guide shares the practical, movement-first approach that Ricky Morgan and the team at MORGAiN Physical Therapy use to help adults build strength, balance, and confidence at any age.
Who This Guide Is For
The Active Longevity Guide was written for adults who want to stay active and independent for years to come. It is a helpful read for:
- Adults who want to keep doing the activities they love as they get older
- People who prefer a natural, movement-based approach tailored to their goals
- Anyone who has become less active after time away from exercise or after an injury
- Those who want to feel steadier on their feet, on the stairs, and on uneven ground
- Active adults who want to future-proof their mobility and confidence
What You Get In The Active Longevity Guide
This is not a generic list of exercises. The guide walks through the same framework the MORGAiN team uses in the clinic, broken down into simple, practical steps.
- The Five Pillars of Active Longevity: strength, balance and gait, joint-friendly mobility, gradual capacity building, and daily recovery habits, with clear guidance on how often to practice each one.
- A 12-Week Phase-Based Roadmap: three phases (Reset & Ready, Build the Base, and Strong & Steady) showing how a plan progresses from simple foundations to real-life skills like uneven terrain, longer carries, and varied step patterns.
- The MORGAiN Longevity Screen: the baseline checks the clinic uses, including the 30-second sit-to-stand, single-leg balance, grip and carry, gait, and mobility checks, plus how each one connects to everyday goals like stairs, gardening, and lifting a grandchild.
- Example Movements: sit-to-stands, step-ups, hip hinges, heel-to-toe walks, rows, and loaded carries, with notes on how to build them up gradually week by week.
- A Look at Non-Invasive Options: how shockwave, red light, and Stimpod may be used alongside a personalized exercise program, never as a stand-alone approach.
- A Simple 7-Day Starter Plan: a short, realistic set of daily habits to get started straight away, plus a straightforward way to track progress.

About Ricky Morgan
Ricky Morgan is the owner and practitioner at MORGAiN Physical Therapy. Originally from North Dakota, Ricky founded MORGAiN in 2023 with one goal: to provide personalized care for active adults and athletes.
His passion for sports medicine grew into a career in physical therapy after shadowing a therapist, and it led him to open his own practice.
Ricky’s approach puts each person’s individual needs ahead of insurance constraints. That means tailored plans, time to look beyond surface-level issues to what may be going on underneath, and a focus on helping people return to the activities that matter most to them.
Why Adults Choose MORGAiN Physical Therapy
MORGAiN does not do generic, high-volume protocols. Every plan starts with a clear baseline of mobility, balance, gait, and strength, along with a conversation about what “better” looks like for that person. From there, the team builds a 10 to 15 minute daily plan focused on the essentials, with check-ins every few weeks so progress is easy to see.
Clients can expect personal coaching, clear progressions tied to their goals, and milestones that relate to real life, such as walking farther, moving around the house with more confidence, and enjoying more active days in a row.
